Twisted Olive was founded by Mary (Mother/Nurse) and Scott (Food and beverage service) Shearer in 2010.  Mary combined her interest in foods that promote a healthy life, belief that inflammation was a dangerous health hazard, entrepreneurship drive, and philanthropic nature and opened an olive oil and balsamic store in downtown Naperville.  She thought, "This is what I'm supposed to do. I've been training for this my whole life!"

Today, Twisted Olive is the only independent bottler and distributor of craft olive oil and balsamic in the Chicago area.  Mary’s first decision was to stay independent and not sign with one supplier allowing Twisted Olive to choose the best product available on the market. The Olive Oils are all first press cold press that have an acidity level of .2% - the purest available.  The balsamic is from Modena, Italy.
